Australians could be the target of imminent terrorist attacks in Indonesia, including Bali, the Federal Government has warned in a revamped travel alert.
Right: Alexander Downer. [File]
According to the Department of Foreign Affairs, numerous attacks are being planned against Westerners, despite the recent arrests of "high-level operatives" of Jemaah Islamiah.
Foreign Minister Alexander Downer said the department had been receiving reports for some time about possible attacks from groups associated with JI, which is linked to Osama bin Laden's al-Qaeda. "People should be awake to that," he said, despite "a sense in the community" having taken hold that the terrorist threat in the region had dissipated.
"The reason we've reissued the travel advisory is that, in the context of a number of high-profile arrests in recent times in Indonesia, we still nevertheless remain very concerned about the possibility of terrorist attacks and those terrorist attacks could be imminent," he said.
"It can't be ruled out."
The warning does not change the overall level of threat to Australians.
"We're not predicting an attack at a particular location," Mr Downer said. "We're just reminding people that terrorist attacks are possible in Indonesia."
The warning came as Prime Minister John Howard announced for Australia what he billed as the world's best border-security arrangements, set to take effect ahead of both the Sydney meeting of Asia-Pacific heads of government and the federal election.
The new deal, which involves better data matching and more extensive background checks, was unveiled in the wake of the probe of the links of foreign-trained doctors in Australia to the recent failed terrorist attacks in Britain. The border-security initiative was bolstered by a pledge from Attorney-General Philip Ruddock to consider amending anti-terrorist legislation to extend the detention and questioning time of suspects, if he received advice from police or security services that it was warranted.
The department's warning on Indonesia specified Western targets.
"We continue to receive reports indicating that terrorists are planning attacks against Western interests, against a range of targets, including places frequented by foreigners," it said.
"If you are in Indonesia, including Bali, and are concerned for your safety, you should consider departing. If you do decide to travel to Indonesia, including Bali, you should exercise extreme caution."
Attacks could take place at any time and could be imminent. The warning referred to the Bali and Jakarta bombings of 2002, 2004 and 2005 and noted "these areas are a priority target for terrorists".
Eighty-eight Australians were killed in the 2002 bombings, for which nine terrorists have been found guilty.
Bagel: I wonder how many months it will be before: "John Howard announced for Australia what he billed as the world's best border-security arrangements"
becomes a pie slapped in John Howards face. Probably enough time for us all to duck under our Fridge Magnets.

Alan Johnston video released:
Let the world see the reality behind supposed Palestinian Peace Overtures
Alan Johnston video released
In three years here in the Palestinian territories, I've witnessed the huge suffering of the Palestinian people.
And my message is that their suffering is continuing, and that it is unacceptable.
Every day there are Palestinians arrested, imprisoned for no reason. People are killed on a daily basis.
The economic suffering is terrible, especially here in Gaza where there's an Israeli [audio jumps] absolute despair after nearly 40 years of Israeli occupation which has been supported by the West.
The situation in Iraq is even worse, we see every day maybe 100 or more Iraqis being killed, in the violence there which followed the failed invasion of Iraq by America and Britain.
Ordinary people who are losing everything and can't live their lives properly. Because of not just the violence, but the shortage of everything they need for normal lives, for bringing up their children.
Errr... Afghanistan, the situation again terrible.
You see on your television screens ordinary people [audio jumps] suffering as the armies of America and B... [audio jumps] America attack [audio jumps] attack.
In all this, we can see the British government endlessly working to occupy, err, the Muslim lands, against the will of the people in those places.
From history, the British worked to bring about the state of Israel, which is the cause of all the suffering of the Israeli... of the Palestinian people, and we, the British, are completely to blame, along with the Americans, for the situation in Iraq, and the British are the main force in Afghanistan, causing all the trouble to ordinary, simple Afghans who simply want to live.
To my family, my family... [audio cuts off abruptly].
[An on-screen caption says: "BBC refused to take this message to his family."]
My captors say that my release is subject to the following...""
[The video then plays an audio message from an unidentified man speaking in Arabic.]
""We want Britain to free our prisoners and we specify Sheikh Abu Qatada al-Filistini, and at this position we won't forget our prisoners in the other infidel states and we say to them, free our prisoners or we will deal with you the same.
We don't specify a state without the others. And we say if you want the ransom to free them we will give you to the last piece of gold as the Prophet, peace be upon him, told us to do. ""

US Will not Restrain Israeli Attack on Gaza
The time has come.
(IsraelNN.com) As the government weighs its response to the increase in Kassam attacks from Gaza, the US, through its ambassador to Israel, has stated that it will not restrain Israel from carrying out attacks in Gaza.
The Israeli Air Force carried out an attack in Northern Gaza on Monday, destroying a load of rockets being delivered to terrorist cells. Under the cease-fire agreement that Israel is unilaterally adhering to, it may only attack in Gaza to prevent an immanent threat.
In the attack, the terrorists themselves succeeded in escaping, but an Arab bystander was injured.
BB: Get ready for the howls of Protest, for months the Palestinians have been firing Qassam after Qassam after Qassam and there has been little in the way of world protests, now their going to face the consequences of not stopping the terrorist attacks, and all of a sudden the pleas and hysterics will begin. For months Fatah and Hamas have done nothing in the way of policing Gaza and preventing the firing of hundreds of missiles into Israel, in fact Hamas has actively been involved in supplying the rockets. The time has come.

Just an coincidence that the Arab league makes a Peace offer and there's a flurry of planning for terrorist attacks?
The discovery of a truck laden with one hundred kg's of powerful explosive and considerable shrapnel was a absolute blood bath in the making. That the truck exploded in Kalkilya due to a 'work accident', is fortunate to say the least. There is little doubt that it was destined to be used to create a terrible scene of death and carnage during Passover in the Tel Aviv area. Mar 17, 2002 - A suicide bomber exploded himself near an Egged bus no. 22 at the French Hill junction in northern Jerusalem. 25 people were lightly injured. Mar 20, 2002 - Seven people, four of them soldiers, were killed and about 30 wounded, several seriously, in a suicide bombing of an Egged bus No. 823 traveling from Tel Aviv to Nazareth at the Musmus junction on Highway 65 (Wadi Ara) near Afula. The Islamic Jihad claimed responsibility for the attack. Mar 21, 2002 - Three people were killed and 86 injured, 3 of them seriously, in a suicide bombing on King George Street in the center of Jerusalem. The terrorist detonated the bomb, packed with metal spikes and nails, in the center of a crowd of shoppers. The Fatah al-Aqsa Brigades claimed responsibility for the attack. Mar 27, 2002 - 30 people were killed and 140 injured - 20 seriously - in a suicide bombing in the Park Hotel in the coastal city of Netanya, in the midst of the Passover holiday seder with 250 guests. Hamas claimed responsibility for the attack. The terrorist was a member of Hamas from Tulkarem, on the list of wanted terrorists Israel had requested be arrested. Mar 29, 2002 - Two people were killed and 28 injured, two seriously when a female suicide bomber blew herself up in the Kiryat Yovel supermarket in Jerusalem. The Fatah Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades claimed responsibility for the attack. Mar 30, 2002 - One person was killed and about 30 people were injured in a suicide bombing in a cafe on the corner of Allenby and Bialik streets in Tel-Aviv. The Fatah Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades claimed responsibility for the attack. Mar 31, 2002 - 15 people were killed and over 40 injured in a suicide bombing in Haifa, in the Matza restaurant of the gas station near the Grand Canyon shopping mall. Hamas claimed responsibility for the attack. Mar 31, 2002 - An MDA paramedic was very seriously injured along with three other people at 17:00 Sunday afternoon in a suicide bombing at the emergency medical center in Efrat, in the Gush Etzion bloc south of Jerusalem. Apr 1, 2002 - A police officer was killed in Jerusalem when a Palestinian suicide bomber heading toward the city center blew himself up in his car after being stopped at a roadblock. The Fatah al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades claimed responsibility for the attack. Apr 10, 2002 - Eight people were killed and 22 injured in a suicide bombing on Egged bus #960, en route from Haifa to Jerusalem, which exploded near Kibbutz Yagur, east of Haifa. Hamas claimed responsibility for the attack. Apr 12, 2002 - Six people were killed and 104 wounded when a woman suicide bomber detonated a powerful charge at a bus stop on Jaffa road at the entrance to Jerusalem's Mahane Yehuda open-air market. The Al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades claimed responsibility for the attack.
Its discovery just before passover brings back the horrific murders of 22 people and 140 injured on March 27 2002. This suicide attack was executed in the midst of a Passover Seder with 250 guest. It happened at the Park Hotel in Netanya. [More Details]
It unfortunately also bares a connection to the previous terror attack at the Dolphin Disco in Tel Aviv in 2001. Hamas's Kalkilya infrastructure was responsible for this attack as well.
21 people were killed and 120 were injured. The most shocking aspect of this suicide bombing was the deliberate targeting of Israeli Children. Of the 21 People killed, 11 were aged 16 years or younger, the average age of those killed was barely 18 years old. [ More Details]
It is known the suicide bomber was assisted by the Hamas's Kalkilya infrastructure.
There was a massive increase in terrorist attacks in the months leading up to passover in March of 2002, unfortunately there is evidence that Hamas may be preparing for another series of suicide attacks.
Coincidentally where the truck exploded, in Kalkilya there was another suicide bombing on Mar 28 2001.
Probably the hardest thing to stomach about this latest development is that in 2002 on March the 28th The Arab league announced a declaration for peace ( historically referred to as The Beirut Declaration), which was partially based on what was touted as a Saudi peace plan.
Immediately before this so called offer of peace there was a major escalation in terrorist attacks and suicide bombings, these increased in intensity even further. In fact the very day before the this 'momentous declaration of a peace plan' the murderous attack on the Park Hotel occurred.
In the preceding two weeks before the Beirut Declaration there were 8 major terrorist attacks.![]()
Mar 2, 2002 - Eleven people were killed and over 50 were injured,
in the ultr orthodox Beit Yisrael neighbourhood from a suicide bomber
Mar 5, 2002 - Maharatu Tagana, 85, of Upper Nazareth was killed and a large number of people injured, most lightly, when a suicide bomber exploded in an Egged No. 823 bus as it entered the Afula central bus station.
Mar 7, 2002 - A suicide bomber blew himself up in the lobby of a hotel in the commericial center on the outskirts of Ariel in Samaria. 15 people were injured, one seriously.
Mar 9, 2002 - 11 people were killed and 54 injured, 10 of them seriously, when a suicide bomber exploded at 22:30 PM Saturday night in the crowded Moment cafe at the corner of Aza and Ben-Maimon streets in the Rehavia neighborhood in the center of Jerusalem. Hamas claimed responsibility for the attack.
In the next two weeks, Between the 28th of March Peace Plan declaration and April 12th there were 7 further major incidents of terrorism.
Isn't it remarkable that another peace proposal has just been iniated by the Arab league, and almost simultaneously there is what looks like the beginnings of an escalation in terror attacks.
Does this start to make you question the sincerity of the 'Peace gestures' and overtures the Arab League are making? Isn't it more akin to a powerful League of Arab nations, placing demands on Israel and threatening that this will be the last 'chance of peace'.
Exerting all the pressure it can to place the Israeli leadership under pressure by an orchestration and increase of terrorist attacks.
The offer of Peace by the Arab league should be seen exactly for what it is. Unreasonable demands and expectations which will never be agreed to, in an attempt to marginalise the State of Israel whilst at the same time, appearing to be legitimately seeking peace and making overtures of peace.
This action hoping to win favor with the International community so as International funding for the Palestinians will re commence.
Why is it every time the Arab league says they are offering a 'chance of peace' Israel is attacked with increased intensity by suicide bombers and acts of terrorism?
For an organisation that puts forward that it desires peace why is there so much sabre rattling going on and threats of 'the last chance of peace'. Does this sound like a organisation legitimately wanting peace?
If this is what the Arabs call 'gestures of peace', I preferred it when they weren't gesturing.
The reality of the situation is, acts of aggression by States have to come at a price. When the Arab States fought a war against Israel in 1967, there wasn't any talk of peace then, they were trying to destroy the state of Israel. Their aggression backfired and they lost territories, this is the price the initiator of aggression, who loses pays.
If the Arab states involved in the 1967 war had won the war would they now grant territory back to Israel? We both know the answer to that.

IDF and ISA foil major Terrorist attack
(Communicated by the Prime Minister's Office)
Nineteen Hamas terrorists from Kalkilya were arrested last month in a joint ISA-IDF operation. They were planning to explode a vehicle laden with approximately 100 kg. of explosives in the greater Tel Aviv area during Passover.
In the context of a wave of arrests that was carried out recently in Kalkilya, it has become clear that Hamas is working to immediately perpetrate serious attacks, including against the Israeli home front, following a period in which the organization built up its strength and its capabilities.
From ongoing ISA investigations, it is evident that the terrorists intended to perpetrate a series of various attacks including the aforementioned. A commercial vehicle had already been prepared and loaded with approximately 100 kg. of powerful explosives and considerable shrapnel. The suicide-terrorist drove the vehicle to the central greater Tel Aviv area; however, the attack was not carried out and the vehicle was returned to Kalkilya. During the aforesaid wave of arrests, the vehicle exploded in a "work accident."
The designated suicide-terrorist, a resident of Kalkilya who married a resident of Taibe, carried an Israeli identity card that he had received in the context of family unification. His identity card enabled him to leave and enter Kalkilya in order to collect intelligence, while his vehicle's temporary Israeli license plate facilitated its use by the Hamas terrorists.
Kalkilya's proximity to central Israel facilitates the movement of Israelis for both commercial and criminal purposes. In order to avoid harming the quality of life of Kalkilya residents, those holding Israeli and Judea and Samaria identity cards are allowed to enter and leave the city relatively freely. The foregoing is yet another instance in which terrorists have exploited those who receive Israeli identity cards in the context of family unification in order to plan attacks, gather intelligence, transport terrorists, etc.
Hamas's Kalkilya infrastructure was responsible - inter alia - for the 1 June 2001 suicide-bombing at the Tel Aviv Dolphinarium in which 21 people were murdered and 120 were injured. The abovementioned wave of arrests shows that it has succeeded in rebuilding itself and has reached a high level of operational readiness. It is still planning to perpetrate major attacks, including in the immediate term. ISA and IDF counter-terrorist operations are continuing.

Whoops theres a little typo showing bias?
Sometimes an article is more interesting for what it doesn't say or even better what it accidently says!
Captors of Israeli soldier hand demands to Israel
2007/4/8
By KARIN LAUB,RAMALLAH, West Bank, APAfter months of deadlock, the captors of an Israeli soldier handed Israel the names of Palestinian prisoners they want freed in exchange for the hostage, a senior Palestinian official said Saturday.
[ Got to love how Fatah are now the 'moderates', gee I'd rather be killed by a moderate Fatah terrorist than a Hamas terrorists anyday... ]
The release of Israeli Cpl. Gilad Shalit is seen as a precondition for any possible progress in Israeli-Palestinian peace efforts. A swap could also help the new Palestinian unity government, a coalition of the Islamic militant Hamas and the moderate Fatah movement, in its quest for international acceptance.Palestinian Information Minister Mustafa Barghouti did not say how many names were on the kidnappers' list, which he said was forwarded to Israel by Egyptian mediators. Barghouti said the next move is up to Israel and that he hopes the swap will be carried out quickly.
[Is this an oxymoron? Palestinian Information Minister Mustafa Barghouti did not say... ]Israeli officials declined comment.
[Captured? Kidnapped would be just a little more correct]
Shalit was captured 10 months ago by Hamas-allied militants who tunneled under the Gaza-Israel border, attacked an army post in Israel and snatched the soldier.
His captors initially demanded the release of 1,400 Palestinian prisoners, including women, minors and dozens of the longest-serving inmates. In all, some 9,300 Palestinian security prisoners are being held by Israel, one of the highest totals in 40 years of military occupation.Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert has said he is willing, in principle, to release prisoners. However, the swap has been held up by disagreement over who should be freed. Israel balks at releasing those involved in attacks that killed or wounded Palestinians.
[Whoops.. move along folks, no bias showing here... ]In recent weeks, there had been repeated reports that a list of names was handed to Israel. However, Barghouti's comments marked the first public confirmation. "If the Israeli government is serious, there is now a very good opportunity to end this chapter," Barghouti said.
[ ... killed 140 Palestinians, where's the world out rage now? Lets just make it a little clearer the Palestinians killed 140 Palestinians, and these are the people we are supposed to negioate peace with? ]
Barghouti spoke after a special Cabinet meeting on reform of the Palestinian security services. He said the new interior minister presented a reform plan, but that another meeting would be held in a week.
Wrangling over control of the 85,000-strong security forces was a key reason for months of factional fighting that killed more than 140 Palestinians. Hamas and Fatah put off the thorny issue when they formed their government last month. At the center of the dispute is the fate of a 5,600-strong Hamas militia, formed a year ago as a counterweight to the security forces loyal to Fatah. Also Saturday, an Israeli airstrike in Gaza killed a Palestinian militant and wounded two. The Israeli military said it launched the strike after spotting the militants trying to plant a bomb. It said militants had planted explosives in the same area two days earlier.
[There's that word again Cease Fire, Israel ceases Fire and the Palestinians shoot hundreds of rockets, and plant bombs , where's the world outrage now?.. ]
The army said militants have planted more than 40 bombs along the border since Palestinian militants in Gaza and Israel agreed on a cease-fire in November.
The Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine, a small militant group, said the militants were "on a holy mission" when they were hit by the Israeli force.
Israel says militants have been exploiting the lull to smuggle explosives, missiles and other weapons into Gaza through tunnels from neighboring Egypt.
During the truce, Palestinian militants have fired some 200 rockets into Israel, the army said, including two on Saturday. One of the rockets caused light damage to a building in the border town of Sderot, a common target of the militants. The army said there were no injuries.Egypt's foreign minister Ahmed Aboul Gheit urged both sides to calm, condemning Israel's Saturday airstrike, and called on Palestinians to refrain from firing rockets.
[ Condemning : Israel ..... Refrain : Palestinians
Some one notice more bias from the Egyptian Foreign Minister? ]
Also Saturday, the Al Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades, a violent Fatah offshoot, said one of its most well-known gunmen, Zakariya Zubeyd,i was shot in the shoulder during a gunbattle with Israeli forces in the northern West Bank city of Jenin. The group said Zubeydi was being treated at a private residence.
Israel's army confirmed it fired at a gunman in a battle in Jenin's refugee camp overnight, but said it did not know the identity of the target. Israel says Zubeydi has been involved in numerous attacks against Israelis, including deadly roadside shootings.
Zubeydi, a fluent Hebrew speaker, is often interviewed by the Israeli media. He is best known for his friendship with an Israeli woman, Tali Fahima, who was jailed for more than two years on charges she shared classified information with Zubeydi.
Somehow I think "Israel balks at releasing those involved in attacks that killed or wounded Palestinians."
might be a rather revealing typo, what do you think?

See inside a Guantanamo Bay Prison Cell
With the news of Australian David Hicks serving 9 months in an Australia Jailwith an official gag order this cartoon couldn't be more timely.
The Australian David Hicks that has been accused of supporting Al Qaeda in Afghanistan and has spent the last 5 years in captivity at Guantanamo Bay awaiting trial has been recieving a lot of media attention recently. Amnesty international has built a full scale model of the cell he has been held in.
I've come across a fantastic rendering of the cell's interior in 3 d using Apple's Virtual Reality Quicktime driver.
A report from News .com.au has this to say:
A MOCK prison cell resembling David Hicks's living conditions at Guantanamo Bay began its Australia-wide public tour today in Sydney.
If you want to see the VR quicktime movie of his cell
click the picture and it will open in another window
Amnesty International Australia (AIA) built the full-scale model to display the solitary confinement conditions of the Australian and other accused terror suspects in the US detention centre in Cuba.
People are able to enter the cell at Sydney's Martin Place and experience the prisoners' living conditions, including the sounds of shouting and orders given mixed with periods of silence.
Outside the cell, a large video screen displays the news and current events that Hicks and other detainees have missed over the past five years.
”It is astounding that while the conditions in Guantanamo Bay have not been good enough for the citizens of Britain, France and Germany, Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia and Spain, they have been good enough for David Hicks,” AIA campaign coordinator Katie Wood said.
“These governments have all demanded the return of their citizens - why is it good enough for an Australian citizen?”
Hicks, a 31-year-old Muslim convert from Adelaide, was captured by the US in Afghanistan in December 2001 serving with Taliban forces.
He has been held at the US detention facility at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, since January 2002.
He is facing a hearing of a charge of providing material support for terrorism, to be held in Guantanamo Bay next Monday.
The mock cell opened today from 8am to 7pm (AEDT) and will be open at Martin Place until Thursday.
It will then be taken to more than 30 cities and towns over the coming months.
“We are inviting people around Australia to visit the cell to publicly show their support for the human rights and dignity for all,” Ms Wood said.
________________
Now I'm all for Human rights, and despite my support of the US governments action in Iraq, I find the situation with David Hicks having to wait 5 and half years to finally get justice is just not acceptable. On the other hand for terrorists that have been proven beyond doubt to have killed innocents I propose this alternative Prison Cell rendered as a Quicktime VR movie.
of how they should imprison terrorists.

An Apple a day helps keep Muqtada al -Sadr away
It seems that our Iraqi Friend Muqtada al -Sadr has been busy not only keeping himself away from the dentist chair but sticky his porky fingers in places he shouldn't be. Some attribute him as being a major factor in the sectarian unrest that is plaguing Iraq. His well known Anti American stance has caused many causalities in Iraq.
Finally after years of Pseudo protection the Iraqi Government appears to have stopped protecting the Shiite militant.
In a desperate bid to stop an all out American offensive he has withdrawn a two month boycott of the Government.
His supporters include 30 law makers and 6 cabinet ministers under his control, which are now back at their Jobs Sunday.
Clearly this man acts only out of his own megalomaniacal self interests, he dreams of a an Iraq under Sharia law.
At times he has openly encouraged rebellion against the 'invaders' and Iraqi police. Due to his Shia background and that his political followers include a large active militia, and 30 MP's and a handful of ministers in the American-backed government, confronting him has been a very tall task.
As predicted fatalities have began increasing in Iraq, this should come as no surprise to any one, those desperate to maintain their tyrannical holds are doing every thing they ca to inflame sectarian violence and cause US casualties.
The truth be known this Shia Cleric has been trouble all along. The quicker he is dealt with the better.
The upside is, when he is finally captured, he may just get that desperately needed dental appointment.
Right: When asked how many times he had brushed his teeth in his life he simply gestured 1, we figured this must be a pending appointment.
If cleanliness is next to G_dliness what's toothlessness?

Video nasty attacks Jews; Australian Sheikh shows real intentions
Sheik Feiz Mohammed preaching Jihad and intolerance
Extracts from Sydney Morning Herald
[Commentary, Video and pictures added by Bagelblogger. ]
____________________
Firebrand Muslim preacher Sheik Feiz Mohammed has referred to Jews as evil in a videotaped lecture still being sold in Sydney despite threats of legal action by the federal and state governments.
He refers to Jews as he makes pig-like snorting noises.
They will be [snort, snort] - all of them. Every single one of them.
![]()
In the talk, titled The Gathering, he also referred to Jews as
the leader of pride or arrogance.
![]()
They have got the most extreme racial pride in them,
he said.
They say that every single non-Jew is a slave created to serve the Jews … Their time will come like every other evil person's time will come."
Sheik Feiz was born in Sydney and now lives in Lebanon.
The 12 lectures, contained in packs of DVDs titled The Death Series, attracted attention following the airing of a British documentary, Undercover Mosque. Its producers bought the series from children selling Islamic materials at a car park outside a mosque in England.
In this video the Australian SheikFeiz Mohammed refers to Jews as Pigs
The lectures, in which Sheik Feiz also refers to Jews as pigs and calls on Muslim parents to offer their children as soldiers to defend Islam, were still on sale in Sydney late yesterday. The Herald found the series in an Islamic bookshop in Lakemba.
The Premier, Morris Iemma, called on the Federal Government to use sedition laws to outlaw the DVDs.
Right: New South Wales Premier Iemma
He has gone way beyond the sort of outrageous and stupid comments made in recent times by the other sheik,"
Mr Iemma said, referring to Sheik Taj el-Din al Hilaly.![]()
This fellow is inciting people to commit acts of terror.
![]()
A spokesman for the federal Attorney-General's department questioned yesterday why Mr Iemma had not moved to have the series banned under state laws prohibiting the sale of unclassified DVDs.
The acting Attorney General, Kevin Andrews, said Australian Federal Police were investigating the matter.
Mr Andrews labelled the preachings an "importation of hatred" and said an investigation had begun.
"There is an offence in Australia, in broad terms, for a person to incite violence against another person or group of people based on political opinion or religious grounds or belief," he said.
The Federal Opposition Leader, Kevin Rudd, said Sheik Feiz was not welcome back in Australia.
These statements are obscene in the extreme.

Sheik Mohammed has made extraordinarily violent statements when it comes to encouraging people to commit acts of jihad,
he said.
I would say this to Sheik Mohammed, 'Do not return to Australia, you are not welcome here.' As I see it, Sheik Mohammed's statements add up to incitement to terrorism.
In one of the DVDs Sheik Feiz criticises Muslim parents for being too cautious about letting their children receive jihad teachings.
He also talks of his desire that children be offered "as soldiers defending Islam".
Sheik Feiz makes pig-like snorting noises when he refers to Jews.
"They will be [snort, snort] - all of them. Every single one of them."
The president of the Islamic Friendship Association, Keysar Trad, described some of the comments as ambiguous, but condemned the attacks against Jews. "If he means by standing up and defending faith in a non-violent way - do it using words - then we all do that.
"But if he means taking up arms, that would be something most people would take objection to."
Keysar Trad may be president of the Islamic Friendship Association, (and coincidently also its founder) but as the representative of Sheik Elhilaly, they wheel him out to proffer apoligies and theories of mis translations each time the Sheikh has made more and more outlandish claims and statements.
Above Right: Keysar Trad, Ever ready to be wheeled out to defend the indefensible
Now that Keysar Trad is wheeled out as the defender of Sheik Feiz Mohammed you have to seriously start doubting this mans integrity.
According to Keysar Trad;
Some of the comments are 'ambiguous',

That's funny I got the message pretty clear and I'm not even a Muslim.
Keysad Trad has even began putting pen to paper, which is a nice change from the more orthodox approach to Muslim public affairs, Swords to Necks.
In his self written article published only 4 days ago, Mufti lost in translation in the Daily Telegraph, he claims that Sheik Taj el-Dene Elhilaly is a victim of 'mis translations' and that Arabic orators use an excessive flowery type of description that is exagerrated and can lead to a loss of translation.
He appeals to Australias by using examples of Australia's literary history;
But the use of exotic, colourful or exaggerated generalisations – familiar to readers of Lawson and Patterson – remains a feature of contemporary Arab culture.

He then goes on to explain the custom of using exageration as a literary device;
He claims:
Linguists who teach the Arabic language in Arabic-speaking countries believe that the mark of a good writer is how much he or she can exaggerate in illustrating a point.
Give this gift of exaggeration to a man of the cloth whose domain is fire and brimstone euphemisms and you will get very colourful and exotic analogies. You may have read a few in the past few days.
Arabic writers exaggerate to stretch the reader's imagination and to ensure that they present a story without offending individuals.
The aim with exaggerated story telling is to make it easier for people to draw moral lessons and conclusions.

To me this plethora of exaggeration (or is that insincerity) seems to be at its strongest when Keysad Trad apologises profusely for the mis translations' which seem to plague the Sheik's oratations. That you would even bother defending Sheik Feiz Mohammed is of serious concern.
You might be the face of 'so called Moderate Islam' Keysad Trad but your continual and unswerving devotion to Sheik Elhilaly reveals your true orientation. Apologists and admirer in one.
The head of the NSW Jewish Board of Deputies, Vic Alhadeff, said he was concerned some people could be influenced by Sheik Feiz's comments.
"It's of great concern when someone in a position of leadership abuses their authority to incite racial hatred - that is what this man is doing."
It's of a certain irony that almost this time last year, there was a public debate by the Australian Treasurer Peter Costello and others against Fundamentalist Muslims, accepting Australian values and Immigration.
Where have we moved since then? No where.
