U.S. rushes precision-guided bombs to Israel

Precision-bombs

Report: U.S. rushes precision-guided bombs to Israel
[N.Y.Times - Reuters]

The Bush administration is rushing a delivery of precision-guided bombs to Israel, which requested the expedited shipment last week after beginning its air campaign against Hezbollah targets in Lebanon, The New York Times reported on Saturday.

Citing U.S. officials who spoke on Friday on condition of anonymity, the Times said the decision to ship the weapons quickly came after relatively little debate within the administration, and noted in its report that its disclosure threatens to anger Arab governments and others who could perceive Washington as aiding Israel in the manner that Iran has armed Hezbollah.

The munitions are actually part of a multimillion-dollar arms-sale package approved last year which Israel is able to tap when it needs to, the officials told the Times. But some military officers said the request for expedited delivery was unusual and indicated that Israel has many targets it plans to hit in Lebanon.

The arms shipment has not been announced publicly. The officials who described the administration's decision to rush the munitions included employees of two government agencies, one of whom described the shipment as just one example of a broad array of armaments that the United States has long provided Israel, the Times said.

Pentagon and military officials declined to describe in detail the size and contents of the shipment to Israel, the newspaper said, and they would not say whether the munitions were being shipped by cargo aircraft or some other means. But one U.S. official said the shipment should not be compared to the kind of an "emergency resupply" of dwindling Israeli stockpiles that was provided during the Yom Kippur War, according to the Times report.

A spokesman for the Israeli Embassy in Washington told the Times: "We have been using precision-guided munitions in order to neutralize the military capabilities of Hezbollah and to minimize harm to civilians. As a rule, however, we do not comment on Israel's defense acquisitions."

Thanks for the information N.Y. Times
Can you tell us when its being sent, how and where it will arrive, and if there's any chance of terrorist interrupting the shipment? We're all cashed up now with illegitimate funds, since you revealed how we should distribute money around the globe.

Lets look at these 'precision - guided bombs'
A response.

It is absolutely disgraceful that the U.S. is sending Israel Millions of dollars of precision guided bombs!

I can't believe that Israel would be so low as to spend millions to acquire these high precision bombs!

Why not use the cheaper inaccurate bombs they have? That's what budget conscious Hezbollah does, why spend thousands per bomb to avoid civilians, when you can rely on incredibly inaccurate bombs that fall any where and terrorize the civilian population.

12 Days of intensive targeted bombing and Israel has only just started to get to the Mortality rate of what Hezbollah did when they killed the U.S. Marines in Lebanon in 1983. Or the bombing of innocent Jewish Civilians in Argentina that caused almost 400 deaths and injuries.

Hezbollah you murdered 241 Marines in 10 seconds, you haven't even seen fury yet.
Don't even compare the absolute evil of Hezbollah.
Wars are dangerous, people die, Israel would much rather prefer to be peaceful.

Israel does everything practical to avoid civilian casualties, I don't remember a leaflet drop for the Marines? Or the Argentine Jewish civilians? Or just before a suicide bomber?

Unlike Hezbollah, Israel does everything practical to avoid innocent civilian lives.

  • Which of the two hide their rockets amongst the civilian population?

  • Which of the two position their rockets amongst the civilian population?

  • Which of the two fire their rockets amongst the civilian population?

  • Which of the two hide amongst the civilian population?

  • Which of the two try to appear as the civilian population?

  • Which of the two use civilian utilities/pick ups and vans to transport missiles amongst the civilian population?

  • Which of the two use the civilian population as shields?

  • Which of the two deliberately target the civilian population?

  • Which of the two don't have weapons that have any ability to avoid the civilian population?

  • We have seen what happens when Israel tries to be peaceful, Israel is seen as weak.

Why spend millions on precision targeted bombs, if you are trying to hit civilians?

No person of any sophistication buys that Israel is deliberately targeting civilians.

We know who the indiscriminate murderers really are.

As for 'Proportional Response', Israel would have far greater casualties if the state of Israel and its citizens didn't build bomb shelters.

Since when was War Fair? Should we start wearing red Jackets and bright buttons? Theres nothing fair about War, and the truth of the matter is Israel would not exist, if Israel didn't look after its own interests. Almost every state around Israel at one time or another has declared their ambition to absolutely destroy Israel.

Proportional? Like the previous Proportional Prisoner exchanges?
Like the proposed initial prisoner exchange? Release a thousand Murderers and we'll give you information?

Which of those countries that are complaining about proportional response would enter into an agreement like this? The answer None! So were was the world condemnation when it was proposed? Pardon? Thats right, its only the Jews.

I'm sorry should Israel apologise for its foresight in building bomb shelters?
Profound insight required there, [1948 to 2006 How many Wars?].

Or maybe we should stand outside in the open waiting for Katushyas so the War is fairer?
